As much as I love summer, I’m glad it’s over. Now I can enjoy the trails again.
If love is the answer, why do we keep failing the test?
I love poetry. I love writing and reading it. A friend sent me this book and, I must say, it really makes you think about this thing we call love. This is not your ordinary book of love poems. This author talks about the happy, sad, confusing, dark, and realistic side of love, relationships, sex, and heartbreak.
This is the poetry for real life. It’s one of those books that make you say, “I knew I wasn’t the only one”..lol. The author, Cheryse Newsome, is very blunt and to the point. She doesn’t sugar coat anything and I love it.
Some of my favorites are “That Love” “Remember” and “Alone But Not Lonely”.
So, if you are looking for love poems that are not all sugar, spice, and everything nice, check out Cheryse Newsome’s, Reflections Of My Soul, on Amazon.
Last night, I had the pleasure of seeing Ms. Jackson at Walnut Creek in Raleigh, NC. Let me tell you, this woman is AMAZING!! I have been to my fair share of concerts but none compared to what I experienced last night.
The energy she brought to the stage combined with the energy from the crowd was unreal. People from every age, background, and ethnicity were out last night to support Ms. “Unbreakable”. We sang, laughed, cheered, and some even cried.
It was like we were white water rafting through her career. The waves of emotions we experienced, as she took us on the ride through her incredible music, left us breathless.
This was probably a once in a lifetime opportunity for me. To be honest, I didn’t even think I would get this opportunity. I was in awe of her energy. Not the energy from her singing or dancing, but HER energy. The energy she radiated from her being. Words cannot describe the glow from this woman. Last night, Janet Jackson showed Raleigh, NC and the people at Walnut Creek that she is indeed Unbreakable!
